Craftsmen who automate the craft.
Automated Craftsmen designs, engineers and integrates automation systems. We’ve built our own tools — and put intelligence to work inside them — so the expert work of integration happens faster, more consistently, and with far fewer surprises in the field.
The problemIntegration today
Integration is still built by hand, one project at a time.
Most sites are a patchwork: equipment from different vendors and different decades, speaking different protocols, each with its own interface. Making it behave as one system has traditionally meant skilled people doing the same careful work, by hand, on every project — and finding the problems on site.
That work matters. Doing it from scratch every time is what makes integration slow, expensive and inconsistent.
- 1Read the drawings
- 2Map equipment and points
- 3Choose and document hardware
- 4Write configuration and logic
- 5Debug it in the field
ApproachThe loop, step by step
Engineer it once. Reuse the craft everywhere.
Our approach is the same whether the site is a home or a manufacturing or processing facility: capture the system as a model, generate the engineering from it, prove it before it ships, and keep learning from what it reports.
- 01
Model the site
Every project begins as a structured model: spaces and zones, equipment and devices, points and signals, and how they relate. Everything else is generated from it.
zones · assets · points · relationships · capabilities
- 02
Automate the engineering
Our tools turn drawings and the model into the engineering set — equipment selection, bills of materials, wiring and installation documents, configuration and initial programming. Intelligence proposes; an engineer reviews the output.
drawings → model → BOM · documents · configuration · logic
- 03
Prepare in the lab
Wherever possible, systems are configured, programmed and exercised on our bench before they ship, so far fewer problems surface in the field and time on site goes further.
bench-tested · labeled · startup kits where a site isn’t ready
- 04
Integrate what’s there
New and existing equipment brought into one system, whatever its age or maker, through open, widely supported integration layers rather than a closed ecosystem.
open platforms · existing equipment · no single-vendor lock-in
- 05
Observe and support
Running systems report what they’re doing. With access the way the owner allows it, we diagnose, adjust and extend remotely — often before a truck could have arrived.
signals · diagnostics · remote support
- 06
Improve the model
Every project and every signal feeds back into the model, the tools and the patterns we reuse — so the next system starts further along than the last.
patterns captured · reused · refined
Where this stands
Today, each step is led by a craftsman working with our tools, which makes the engineering faster and more consistent. The tools keep taking on more of the repetitive work — and a person still reviews every result.
Intelligence, governedPrinciples
Intelligence proposes. Deterministic automation acts.
We use intelligence where it speeds the work and improves the result — and keep it out of the places where a system has to behave the same way every time.
Engineers stay accountable.
Tools generate drawings, configuration and code. People review them, sign off and commission the result.
Safety lives in the logic.
Safety-critical behavior belongs in explicit, deterministic control logic and interlocks — never in a model’s judgment.
Sensitive actions ask first.
Anything that affects security or safety is governed by explicit rules and appropriate confirmation.
Local first.
Control runs on site. Data leaves the site only the way the owner allows it.
ProductsAutomated Craftsmen offerings
The craft, built into products.
Each of our products carries the same discipline — model it, engineer it, prove it, support it — into the places that need it most.
